Frequently Asked Questions:

Q.  Where are ATM's located?
A.  An ATM is located just outside of the Locker Room Sports Bar. ATMs are also located in Shavers Center, outside Mountain Kids in Allegheny Springs and in The Depot in Snowshoe Village and at Mountain Top Check In at Top of the World.  A First Citizens Bank is located on Route 66 at the bottom of the mountain.

Q.  How do I rent a unit at Silver Creek?
A. The Silver Creek Lodge itself consists of 239 condominium units ranging from studios to a penthouse. All condominiums feature full kitchens, and except for the studio units, contain fireplaces, balconies and washer/dryers. Over 95% of the units are privately owned and furnished, most of which are rented through the owners themselves, Remax, Snowshoe, Old Spruce Realty, First Tracks Realty, VRBO, or Mountain Valley Properties.  Additional information can be found by Clicking Here.

Q.  Are washers and dryers available to use?
A.  All condominiums feature full kitchens, and except for the studio units, contain washer/dryers. There is convenient, coin-operated washers and dryers for guests staying in studio units.  

Q.  How do I find my unit at Silver Creek?
A.  Your unit number will be a combination of four numbers, i.e. 1523.  The first numeral represents the wing where you are staying (check the signs as you get off the elevator); the second numeral represents the floor, and the third and fourth numerals represent the number of the unit.

Q.  Must I pay for parking if I am a guest?
A.  Please refer to the Parking information from the home page.

Q.  What if I want to buy a unit at Silver Creek?
A.  Contact one of the realtors that service the area, including ReMax, Mountain Valley Properties, Inc., First Tracts Realty or Snowshoe Properties.

Q.  How much are monthly dues?  
A.  Depending on the size of the unit, dues range anywhere from $249 upwards.  If you are interested in purchasing a unit and your realtor doesn't know the answer, have them contact the SCA offices at 304-572-6793.

Q.  Why can't I use my cell phone?
A. Because of our proximity to the Greenbank Observatory in Greenbank, WV, the Snowshoe area is a radio quiet zone and mobile phone service in the area is spotty at best.  AT&T and Verizon offer mobile service that works here in some areas.

Q.  Is WiFi available?
A.  WiFi is available in each room. The SSID (Network Name) is SL+UNIT NUMBER, e.g. SL1605. The password is the phone number to the room. You can find the phone number to the room located on the phone. If you have trouble connecting to the internet please call the Silver Creek Maintenance Department at 6799 from your room phone.

Q.  Where do I get firewood?
A.  You may go to the Locker Room Sports Bar and request that firewood be brought to your unit for a small fee.  However, many of the units have been sealed and have electric inserts.

Q.  Where are trash receptacles located?
A.  From the ground floor, go through the last door on your right and you will see the dumpsters in a fenced area.

Q.  Where do I buy a ticket for the tubing hill?
A.  Call 877-441-4386 or go to the ticket sales office in the ski rental area on the ground floor.
 
Q.  Is there an age/height requirement for the tubing hill?
A.  Yes, all persons must be at least 36" tall and at least 4 years old.

Q.  Where do I buy a lift ticket?
A.  If you haven't purchased a lift ticket in advance, either online or through Snowshoe reservations at 877-441-4386, it can be purchased on-site either at the Silver Creek front desk or at the desk in the ski rental area just up from the ground floor lobby.  One lift ticket will give you access to three distinct ski areas:  Silver Creek, Snowshoe, and Western Territory. 

Q.  How do I rent ski equipment?
A.  Skis and snowboards can be rented in advance by calling Snowshoe reservations at 877-441-4386 or on site subject to availability. Your skis can be picked up at the  Silver Creek rental shop located on the upper portion of the ground level. You can also rent equipment from "The Ski Barn", located at the intersection of Route 219 and Snowshoe Road (304-572-1234 and "Snowcreek Mountain Sports" located at the entrance to the Silver Creek area 304-572-4321. Online rental is also available by visiting skibarn.net.

Q.  How do I access the shuttle?
A.  Shuttle service runs from Silver Creek to several other stops on Snowshoe Mountain on a regular schedule during the winter season and on an "on-call" basis during the summer. To call for a shuttle dial 1000 from your room phone or any guest phone located in the lobby.
 
Q.  Other than the Locker Room Sports Bar and the Bear's Den, where can I dine on the mountain?
A.  Click on the Amenities link on the home page and scroll down to Restaurants/Lounges section.  Click on More Information at the end.

Q.  What's the closest grocery store?
A. Limited selections are available at Wildcat Provisions, behind St. Bernard Chapel near Snowshoe Village, at The Creek Company Store in the Silver Creek lobby and at Par Mar on Route 66 at the bottom of the mountain. The closest full-service grocery store is the IGA in Marlington, WV, about 25 miles to the south on Route 219. There is a Walmart and Kroger grocery store in both Elkins and Lewisburg, WV.
 
Q.  Can I bring my pet?
A.  No, Silver Creek has a strict no pet policy, that does not allow guests' pets in rental units.

Q.  Is smoking allowed?
A.  No, Silver Creek is a non-smoking building, however, there are designated areas for smokers outside the building.
