Silver Creek Lodge opened in 1984, operated as a stand alone ski resort until its purchase by Snowshoe Mountain in the mid-1990's. The ski slopes, tube hill, amenities, and a small amount of commercial space are now operated by Alterra Mountain Company of Denver, CO, the current owners of Snowshoe Mountain and a world leader in destination resorts and the adventure travel industry.
The Silver Creek Homeowner's Association is the most sophisticated HOA on the mountain. On a full-time basis, the HOA employs 8 people, including a general manager, assistant general manager, bookkeeper, maintenance and housekeeping staff. During ski season, an additional 26 employees are added to the payroll. The HOA also operates The Locker Room Sports Bar on the ground floor of the lodge.
Silver Creek has the distinction of having the only night skiing on the mountain as well as the Coca Cola Tube Hill. It also boasts three terrain parks, including the mountain's premier terrain park, for the snowboard enthusiast. Snowshoe offers a ski and snowboard school at the Creek on weekends during the winter months, making it the perfect place for the whole family to learn and enjoy their favorite winter sport. For those that haven't quite embraced the cold, Silver Creek has an indoor-outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as a sauna and fitness room. Snowshoe operates the Bear's Den food area during ski season as well as a retail area. On a year round basis, Silver Creek operates The Locker Room Sports Bar, a food and beverage venue, where you can visit with friends, watch your favorite game on one of the many big screen TVs, or just rest and rejuvenate for the next run.
Snowshoe offers equipment rental and lift tickets on the ground floor of Silver Creek lodge although it's probably more practical and less expensive to purchase online at https://www.snowshoemtn.com/plan-your-trip/tickets-and-passes/lift-tickets. A free shuttle bus service generally runs every 15 minutes during the winter months between Silver Creek, the Snowshoe Village, and other ski areas at Snowshoe Mountain and on-call during the summer months. As an added bonus, your lift ticket covers all areas of the mountain.
